ReDeck

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about installing and using ReDeck as your multi-column X dashboard.

Is ReDeck a TweetDeck alternative?

Yes. ReDeck brings back a multi-column dashboard for X (Twitter) in Chrome, Edge, and Windows, similar to the classic TweetDeck workflow, with modern controls and a privacy-first design.

Is ReDeck free?

ReDeck is free to install from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Microsoft Store for Windows.

Where is my data stored?

ReDeck is privacy-first. Settings and column layouts are stored locally in your browser. No personal data is sent to external servers.

How do I open ReDeck after installing?

Log in to X, then go to x.com/redeck or click the ReDeck extension icon. Your multi-column dashboard opens inside X.

Which browsers and platforms are supported?

Browser extensions are available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. A Windows desktop app is available on the Microsoft Store.

What column types can I add?

Home, Following, Notifications, Explore, Search, composer, custom URLs (lists, profiles, bookmarks), Grok, Chat, and Timeline History, arranged side by side with drag and drop.

Can I save multiple layouts?

Yes. Use Workspaces to save named column layouts and switch between them from the sidebar. You can also export and import settings to move layouts between devices.

Who is ReDeck for?

Social media managers, journalists, researchers, traders, analysts, and power users who need to monitor multiple X feeds at once without tab switching.

Can I use multiple X accounts?

Yes. ReDeck supports quick account switching so you can move between logged-in X accounts without rebuilding your column layout from scratch.

Can I add lists, profiles, or searches as columns?

Yes. Add a Search column for any query, or use custom URL columns for lists, profiles, bookmarks, and other X pages. Right-click any X link and choose Add to Deck.

What is Timeline History?

Timeline History is a dedicated column that keeps a local record of tweets you scrolled past, so you can find something again without reloading the whole feed.

How do I back up or move my layout to another device?

Open ReDeck settings and use backup and restore to export your workspaces and column layout, then import the file on another browser or device.

Will ReDeck slow down my browser?

ReDeck is built for heavy use: off-screen columns can sleep, sleep mode reduces resource use, and live API monitoring helps you see when feeds are working hard.

Is there a ReDeck mobile app?

ReDeck runs as a browser extension in Chrome and Edge, plus a Windows desktop app. A Mac App Store release is planned; there is no native iOS or Android app yet.
