Muted words or AI rules? Start with what you want to control

Keyword filters and natural-language rules solve different problems. Use a simple keyword when it fits; use Jev when the pattern needs more explanation.

A word or a pattern

Muted words are useful when you already know which terms you want to avoid. A Jev rule can describe a broader pattern, such as unsolicited promotions or requests for engagement.

Jev evaluates the text it receives. It does not read attached images or verify an author’s identity, and it can misclassify a post.

Exceptions and previews

A rule can include an exception, such as keeping scam warnings while matching promotional giveaway posts. Preview real saved examples to see whether the wording works as intended.

Exceptions reduce unwanted matches but cannot guarantee them away. Tighten the wording or pause the rule if the activity log shows mistakes.

Different actions and data flows

Jev can take X actions, including mute, block, like, bookmark, repost and add to list. Muting or blocking is an account action, so consider the consequence beyond the individual post.

Jev requires a TypeSafe API key and sends post text, author handle, display name and rule instructions for remote evaluation. Its request limits help manage usage. The website’s rule builder itself does not make AI requests.
