Build an X list from the posts worth following

Use a topic rule to identify relevant posts, then add their authors to a list you manage. Jev’s list action works on the author, not on the individual post.

Choose the list first

Create or select an X list you can manage. Open its address, which has the form x.com/i/lists/1234567890123456789. The number is the list ID.

Choose public or private visibility in X deliberately. The website builder asks for the numeric ID; the actual Jev form also accepts supported list links.

Describe an observable contribution

Try: “Posts where the author explains a change they made to an open-source project or asks for feedback on their release.” Exclude reposted announcements without first-person project involvement.

Use the open-source maintainers or build-in-public template as a starting point. Avoid conditions based on follower count, biography or verification status: those fields are not part of Jev’s evaluation input.

Preview before adding members

Select Add author to list, supply the target list and preview the rule against recent Timeline History entries. Review who would be added, not only whether the post is interesting.

First-person language is not proof of expertise or project ownership. Keep the rule narrow, inspect false positives and use a list you can review easily.

Check the resulting list

Enable Jev after connecting TypeSafe and reviewing your rule. Check the activity log and the list on X to confirm completed additions. A pending or failed action is not a confirmed new member.

You can pause a rule while revising its criteria. New or edited rules apply to newly saved posts from their effective time rather than automatically rebuilding the list from old history.

Jev sends post text, author handle, display name and rule instructions to TypeSafe. Keep private research notes out of rule text unless you intend to send them for evaluation.
